Chinese Shar Pei are a high maintenance breed of dog. They are also extremely intelligent. But that intelligence doesn't translate into obedience. Obedience, and proper canine social skills, that will allow them greater participation in your life and the activities you participate in, comes from training. Therefore, we highly recommend a puppy kindergarten, or beginning obedience class before six months of age. An 8 week old puppy has adult brain waves, all they are lacking is experience. By taking him/her to class, you are providing the life long positive experiences that will enrich both your lives.
Dawn acquired her first Chinese Shar Pei in 1983. Her name was 'House of Horton Ginseng'.
